Jesus came to this earth to be the “last Adam,” to overcome where our first father had failed…

I Corinthians 15:45 “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.”

God sent His Son to conquer all the trials of the human experience, in order that He could be glorified and send that same victorious Spirit – His very own life – to live within all those who receive Him.

Galatians 4:4-6 “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”‘

Adam lost sight of his identity as God’s beloved child, and we all inherit this insecurity, fear, and doubt about our self-worth. But Christ came to conquer this state of insecurity by standing firm in His identity as the only-begotten Son of God, amidst every attempt of the enemy to make Him question it.

Matthew 4:3 “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread…” (Will your Father really provide for your needs?)

Matthew 4:6 “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down…” (Will your Father really protect you?)

Matthew 4:9 “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me…” (Are you really the heir of all things?)

But Jesus held fast to His identity, and conquered the enemy so that He could restore our identity to us as well. We are all born into the family of Adam, with all of his fear and insecurity, but Christ has made it possible that we can be reborn, to reclaim our position in the family of God; the position He intended for us to have all along. In this family we experience the freedom of resting in our identity as sons and daughters of the Creator of the Universe – our Father, our Provider, our Protector, and our Redeemer. When we receive Jesus’ Spirit into our hearts, He gives us His victory!

II Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

John 8:36 “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

And nothing compares to His freedom! 🙌🏼
