Lately I’ve been asking for wisdom on what to centre my mind on in the midst of our world’s situation with Covid-19, and all the decisions being made currently and proposed for the future. There’s so much conflicting information being put out there, and trying to discern who to trust or distrust can be overwhelming. I’m sure many of you can relate! But today I received my answer. God reminded me that His Word is our only sure source of truth, and impressed me that the answer to all of this confusion lies right at the CENTRE of it. The very centre chapter of the Bible is Psalms 118.
There are exactly 594 chapters before, and 594 chapters after it.
When you add together the number of chapters before and after Psalm 118, you get 1188 chapters.
And sure enough, the very centre VERSE of the entire Bible is Psalm 118:8.
How incredible is that?? This verse, at the very centre of God’s Word, tells us exactly where to centre our minds…
Psalm 118:8 “It is better to trust in Yahweh than to put confidence in man.”
I pray for myself and anyone reading this that we will take this counsel to heart. When we see or hear things that break down our confidence in man, let us not be discouraged. When we choose to trust in God first, above all else, His promises will be ours!
